Zamfara Deputy Gov Charges Retirees To Join Politics At All Levels

The State Deputy Governor made the charge while receiving officials of the forum in his office.

While commending the foresight in the unilateral understanding of the forum for coming together to form a political group after retirement, the Distinguished Senator said it is a clear indication that teaming retirees in the State would continue to make an impact in the social-political and economic development of the state and the country in general.

In a statement signed by the director general press affairs, deputy governor’s office, Comrade Babangida Umar Zurmi, said Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau expressed appreciation for the member’s collective agreement to name the forum after Matawalle Vision 2023 and the appointment of his personality as its grand patron in the State.

The Deputy Governor further said, as an enlightened group of the elite, they have a role to play in promoting good governance in the society and, therefore, called on them to embark on sensitization campaign on good policies and programmes of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle’s administration.

He assured the leadership of the forum that they would be carried along in all government and political activities of the present administration.

Speaking earlier, the State Chairman of Zamfara Retirees Forum in support of BELMAT 2023 Alhaji Aliyu Bala said they were at Deputy Governor’s Office to brief him about the existence of their platform and to declare their support for the candidature of His Excellency Governor Bello Matawalle for the second time and also request for the Deputy Governor’s acceptance of being him appointed as Grand Patron of their forum.

The Forum Chairman was accompanied at the visit by some of the State and Local Government officials of the forum.
