GOVERNOR BELLO MATAWALLE’S REASON FOR ABSENCE IN THIS YEAR’S EID-EL-KABIR CELEBRATION IN HIS HOME TOWN MARADUN LOCAL GOVERNMENT
This year’s celebration of eid el adha around the world was unlike how it was few years ago,due to the corona virus pandemic the world is facing,the Governor of Zamfara state was absent in this year’s eid el adha’s celebration in his hometown which would normally be flooded with hundreds of people from around the state to celebrate sallah with his excellency, but as it is with the corona virus pandemic invoke social distancing is a protocol for societal gathering.
For such celebration his excellency abided by the social distancing rule endorsed by WHO and the Federal Government of Nigeria to abstain from any gathering of more than 50 people for the safety of citizens life and to curb the spread of the virus.
With the recent economic crisis the world is facing due to the corona virus pandemic the 2020 budget had to be reviewed and while every person enjoyed and celebrated eid,his excellency alongside his aides worked tirelessly behind closed doors to ensure they reviewed the budget of the state to meet up with the reality on ground.
Finally his excellency through the Permanent Secretary Office Of the Executive Governor Abubakar Ja’afar told Bell media correspondent Khalifa ja’afar that his Excellency would have a very busy schedule in the next few weeks as he would be commissioning major and minor project in the state within and outside the state capital to ensure all projects commissioned are carried out judiciously, and also when asked about the possibility of the completion of the newly build government house he replied it should be completed within the the next 60 days.
