As part of efforts to ensure children of nomadic have access to basic education system in the state, Zamfara state Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), has constructed 36 primary schools for nomadic in the state.
The state chairman of the board, Alh. Aliyu Abubakar has said at a management meeting with education secretaries and BESDA team held at Zamfara teachers training center in Gusau.
The chairman stated that the aim of the establishment of nomadic primary schools is to enable Fulani communities have access to basic education for their children.
He stated that plan are on top geared to construct more additional primary schools for nomadic people across the 14 local government areas of the state by the state government through his board.
He also described the advocacy and sensitisation program rendered by the Basic Education Service Delivery for All (Besda), as welcome development to basic education system in the state.
“I want to commend BESDA program for the sensitization of all our stakeholders particularly school base management committee, education secretaries, primary schools teachers as well as traditional and religious leaders in developing teaching and learning process particularly out of school children and it improved basic education development in the state”. He said .
He pointed out that the development objective of the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) Operation Project for Nigeria is to increase equitable access for out-of-school children and improve literacy in focus states, Zamfara inclusive, and strengthen accountability for results, in basic education in Nigeria.
“This operation is well aligned with the World Bank Group’s 2014 Nigeria country partnership strategy (CPS) for FY2014-2017, as well as its adjustment under the 2016 performance and learning review”. He said
The chairman called on all 14 local government education secretaries to ensure due process and proper documentation of Basic Education Service Delivery for All program in their respective local government education authorities.
He assured government support through the state universal basic education board under his leadership to the federal government, international donors as well as education secretaries to ensure improvement of basic education system in the state.
According to him,the state education board will honor the best performing education secretaries with a view to encourage others to do more in their efforts of improvement of basic education system in the state.
