JUST IN:FG commences Payment Of Withheld Workers Salaries Over IPPIS Issue

The Federal Government has commenced the payment of salaries to civil servants whose November 2023 salaries were initially withheld due to “technical glitches” and discrepancies on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

According to reports, thousands of civil servants had their salaries withheld, but the issues have now been resolved, and affected civil servants have started receiving their salaries.

The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation confirmed that the technicalities causing the withholding of salaries would be resolved, and as of Wednesday, senior civil servants have reported receiving their salary payments.

The National President of the Association of Senior Civil Servants, Tommy Etim, had earlier warned that about 5,000 civil servants risked forfeiting their November and December 2023 salaries over IPPIS verification and other discrepancies.

The government has been working to address the issues, and a total of 2,772 civil servants have been verified and their salaries forwarded for payment.

The remaining 5,000 workers with discrepancies are to be forwarded to their Departments of Human Resources for confirmation. The government has advised public servants to check the Head of Service website for regular updates on the situation
