BREAKING: Eight killed, dozens injured as explosion rocks Borno community

In a devastating incident, a landmine explosion in Kinewba village along Ngala-Dikwa road in Borno State has resulted in the loss of eight lives and left dozens injured. The explosion occurred on Tuesday, about 15 kilometers away from Maiduguri, the state capital.

Reports indicate that the landmine attack took a toll on two vehicles, an Izuzu van, and a lorry, both rendered beyond repair. According to a security source, the vehicles left Ngala around 9:00 am, and the incident happened approximately 15 kilometers away. Tragically, eight civilians, including two children, are feared dead, and numerous others suffered critical injuries in the blast.

A top civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) source revealed that both vehicles triggered the bomb, resulting in nearly all passengers losing their lives. The community is now grappling with the shock and devastation brought about by this unforeseen tragedy. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, as the affected community mourns the loss of lives and deals with the aftermath of the explosive event.
