Zamfara Internal Revenue Service Introduces ‘PayZamfara’ Electronic Payment

The Zamfara State Internal Revenue Service, under the leadership of Chairperson Hajiya Rakiya Ahmed Dodo, has introduced an electronic payment platform dubbed “PayZamfara.” This announcement was made by Alhaji Bilya Muhammad Ahmad, the Director of ICT at IRS, during the weekly Hausa phone-in program “Da Ruwan Ciki akan ja na Rijiya” on Zamfara State Radio.

According to a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of ZIRS, Sanusi Ibrahim S/yamma, and made available to The Spectacles on Saturday, the move aims to replace the manual payment system previously in use and to address revenue leakages.

Alhaji Bilya Muhammad Ahmad, representing Chairperson Hajiya Rakiya Ahmed Dodo, emphasized that the introduction of online payment is part of Zamfara State Internal Revenue Service’s efforts to enhance revenue generation activities and align with its counterparts nationwide for the state’s overall development.

During the program, Alhaji Bilya Muhammad Ahmad, accompanied by Alhaji Aminu Adamu Ibrahim, the Director of Information and Intelligence Gathering Department, elaborated on the automation system and its classifications for the convenience of taxpayers across the state.

In conclusion, Alhaji Bilya Muhammad Ahmad urged taxpayers throughout the state to embrace electronic payments to safeguard themselves from the activities of illicit elements.
