Customs Service Distributes 25kg Rice to Nigerians at Reduced Price

Artisans and various community members have flocked to Nigeria Customs Service offices to purchase 25kg bags of rice at a discounted rate of ₦10,000.

The rush follows the announcement of the service’s plan to distribute seized food items starting Friday.

Customs Comptroller General Adewale Adeniyi emphasized that the distributed items are not for resale and prohibited Customs officers from participating.

NCS spokesperson Abdullahi Maiwada confirmed the initiative aimed to directly distribute seized food items to eligible Nigerians.

To qualify, individuals must provide a Nigerian Identification Number. The target recipients include artisans, teachers, nurses, and religious organizations within Customs’ operational areas.
