And he has greater work experience who spent over six years of service with first bank plc and 13 years with Federal Inland Revenue service
Some of the his legacies and initiatives towards uplifting the standard of the Agency are
1: Launched JEET Programme. JEET means Jigawa Enlightenment and Engagement Tax Teams which goes out every Wednesday for taxpayer education and sensitisation
2: Launched the Jigawa Road Tax Enforment Teams which goes out daily for road tax enforcement
3: Introduced consumption tax payable by restaurants, hotels and event centres on their turnover weekly (every Wednesday)
4: Introduced digital payment of taxes including consumption tax, PAYEE, WHT etc. Payments can now be made from the comfort of your houses
5: Introduced single Haulage Fees and Single interstate road tax stickers enforcement teams across the state
6: Convened the Jigawa state and local govt Joint Revenue Committee to harmonise tax administration in the state
7: Introduced Tax Audit and Investigation Department
8: Introduced tax monitoring teams to monitor MDAs tax remittances to the state government
9: Organized several townhall meetings with relevant stakeholders including MDAs, NWRT, market unions, etc for better taxpayer education and enlightenment
10: While the JEET will improve awareness and bring more people into the tax net. Enforcement, monitoting and tax Audit will bring about more compliance
11: Launched weekly radio programmes for taxpayer education and sensitisation
12: Organized several townhall meetings with relevant stakeholders including MDAs, NWRT, market unions, etc for better taxpayer education and enlightenment among others.
