In Buluku, an outskirt of Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State, tragedy struck as bandits launched a fatal attack, resulting in the death of Ashiru Nagoma and the abduction of his wife and neighbour.
Reports surfaced following a distressing post on X (formerly Twitter) by Zagazola Makama, a security expert based in Maiduguri. Makama’s alarm indicated that bandits infiltrated Gusau town, targeting worshippers in a mosque during midnight prayers at approximately 2 am.
Contrary to initial speculations, Abubakar, a spokesperson, clarified that the bandits’ primary target was Nagoma, who bravely resisted their assault, leading to his demise. Subsequently, his wife and neighbour were forcefully taken by the assailants.
Abubakar emphasized that the mosque remained untouched by the attackers, underscoring the specificity of their intentions. He assured that rescue efforts were underway, with authorities diligently pursuing the perpetrators and conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
