Zamfara: Notorious Bandit Kingpin, Sani Dangote, Siblings Killed in Rival Clash

Reports indicate that a deadly confrontation between rival factions led to the demise of Sani Dangote, a prominent bandit operating in Zamfara State’s Zurmi Local Government Area.

Allegedly, an infamous figure known as Dankarami was responsible for the deaths of Dangote, his two brothers, and several of their associates in the nearby Dumburum Forest.

On Monday, April 8, 2024, a reliable security source close to the local government informed news men that a dispute over rustled cattle sparked the violent altercation.

The gun battle erupted around 2 pm on Sunday and continued until approximately 6 pm, resulting in numerous casualties among the bandits.

“Dankarami rustled cows belonging to Sani Dangote, triggering the conflict between the two bandit leaders. Sadly, Dangote and his two brothers lost their lives,” the source disclosed.

In another incident, a significant number of bandits were reportedly killed during a fierce clash between rival groups in Dajin Haja, a forest located between Hayin Alhaji and Munhaye forest in Zamfara State’s Tsafe Local Government Area.

The confrontation ensued when a bandit faction from neighboring Katsina State attempted to abduct residents in Zamfara State using 41 motorcycles. However, Ado Alero, a notorious bandit kingpin from the region operating in Munhaye forest, intervened, thwarting the kidnapping attempt and preventing further violence.
