The Marafa Support Group lauds the Zamfara State Government for its decisive action in suspending Lawali Dantoshshi, also known as Major Rabi’u Garba Yandoto, the former commander of the Community Protection Guards (CPG).
This commendation comes in the wake of revelations regarding the commander’s alleged involvement in barbaric and unprofessional activities, including extrajudicial killings and the initiation of “Operation Achi Shuru.”
The group urges thorough investigation and prosecution of Dantoshshi to ensure justice for his victims and uphold the integrity of the CPG. Moving forward, the group remains vigilant, advocating for transparency and fairness in addressing security challenges in Zamfara State.

The statement partly reads; MARAFA SUPPORT GROUP COMMENDS ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNMENT OVER THE SUSPENSION OF ZAMFARA STATE CPG COMMANDER
The Senator Marafa support group commends Zamfara State Government for the timely suspension of the Dismissed and Disgraced former CPG Commander Lawali Dantoshshi otherwise known as Major Rabi’u Garba Yandoto.
As the immediate victims of the callous, Barbaric, Unprofessional and Misguided operations of the Disgraced Major Rabi’u-led CPG, we consider the suspension as the most sensible thing to do to redeem the badly bartered image of the organization (The CPG).
As a group, we publicly wished the Government well when it inaugurated the CPG to tackle the menance of insecurity ravaging the state.
However, we were taken aback upon noticing that Mr. Dantoshshi, despite his negative service records and character deficit was appointed by the State Government to lead the Community Protection Guards (CPG), also known as Askarawa.
The interview he granted with cunning statements aimed at tarnishing the image of the Government and the organization he was appointed to lead was just a small dose of his despicable character and tendencies.
While commending the Government for the suspension of the CPG Commander, we strongly call for a thorough investigation of his leadership of the Guards, especially regarding the strong allegations of extra-judicial killings of innocent citizens especially the supporters of our leader Sen Marafa.
Listening to the interview he granted a day before his Sack, Mr. Dantoshshi acknowledged establishing and leading “Operation Achi Shuru” on a number of occasions, which, according to his explanation, points to summary execution of persons known as his political rivals by simply branding them as informants.
From that interview, we strongly believe that Mr. Dantoshshi is largely responsible of the dastardly murder of especially;
1. MAGAJI LAWALI YANDOTO
2. IMAM ABUBAKAR HASSAN MADA
Both brutally murdered by the CPG under his watch.
We therefore called on the Government to, investigate and prosecute the suspended Commander for;
1. Conducting Operation “Achi Shuru”
2. Extra Judicial Killing of innocent citizens.
As a group, we’ll continue to wish the administration well in addressing the security challenges facing Zamfara State. It is our moral conviction that justice and fairness are essential requirements for achieving success, peace and stability.
For this reason, we are keenly watching the investigation into the activities of the suspended CPG Commander with the hope that his victims and infractions, when identified, will be met with appropriate sanctions and redemption.
