A shocking incident unfolded in Jigawa State as unidentified gunmen stormed the residence of Honorable Nasiru Ahmed Kiyawa, the chairman of Kiyawa Local Government, and kidnapped two of his wives.
Honorable Nasiru Ahmed Kiyawa, confirming the ordeal, recounted how the bandits targeted his home after Isha’i prayer on a Friday night. They forcibly expelled individuals near the entrance and, worryingly, fired multiple shots at his front door before gaining access.
These assailants succeeded in abducting his two wives, and the chairman emphasized that they are still being held hostage.
In the wake of this harrowing event, DSP Lawan Adam Shiisu, the spokesperson for the Jigawa State Police Force, confirmed the occurrence. Unfortunately, the kidnappers had managed to seize one of the local government chairman’s wives before the police’s arrival.
In response, the state police force swiftly deployed officers throughout the local government area in an effort to rescue the abducted women. DSP Shiisu urged anyone with relevant information to come forward, as their cooperation could aid in identifying the kidnappers and securing the women’s release.
The issue of kidnapping has become increasingly prevalent in Jigawa State, marking a concerning trend in the region’s security landscape.
