No fewer than 14, 170 SS-3 index students in Bauchi state public schools are to benefit from the sponsorship of external examinations that included NECO, WAEC, and JAMB, among others, by the state government’s good gesture of promoting educational growth and development.
The payments for these examinations amounting to a whopping sum of N396, 963, 000 is coming on the wheels of the generosity and kind gesture of Senator Bala Mohammed in his administration’s momentous stride in educational sub sector support in the state.
Speaking at the press conference yesterday the state commissioner of education, Dr. Jamila Dahiru Mohammed, said the examination fee payment for the year 2023/2024 for a total number of 14, 170 SS-3 index students in public schools across the state.
“The ministry of education in Bauchi state is delighted to announce a momentous stride in educational support, as our Executive Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed continued his steadfast towards the advancement of education through a generous and kind move where he allowed and released the funds for the payment of external exams totalling N396, 963, 000 to cover cost of external exams fee”.
The commissioner explained that Governor Bala Mohammed has always been paying for the external examination fees for the SS-3 students ever since he assumed office in 2019, unlike in previous administrations in the state where students’ external exams were often delayed or covered through fraud funds.
She explained that Governor Bala Mohammed at the inception of his administration even offset the debts incurred by previous administrations amounting to about N800 million for external examinations, while subsequently continued paying such exams fees affront.
