Binance States No Plans to Pay Fines to Nigerian Government

Binance Holdings Ltd has firmly stated that it has no intention of paying fines to the Nigerian government, despite recent reports suggesting otherwise.

Contradicting statements made by a government spokesman regarding potential fines of up to $10 billion, Binance emphasized that discussions with Nigeria have not included any demand for such payments.

A Binance official clarified that while efforts to resolve issues with Nigeria have been underway, there has been no formal request for fines.

The company reiterated its commitment to fostering a positive relationship with the Nigerian government and its people, expressing a desire to restore its services in the country promptly.

In response to inquiries about Binance’s stance, the government spokesman, Mr. Onanuga, clarified that his earlier statements to the BBC were misconstrued.

He emphasized that he did not suggest the company had been officially notified of fines or that regulatory penalties had been finalized by Nigerian authorities.
