Presidency Accuses Peter Obi of Introducing two Dangerous Elements into Politics

Bayo Onanuga, Special Advisor on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has accused Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), of introducing “two dangerous things” into Nigerian politics during the previous elections.

Onanuga alleged that Obi fueled religious and ethnic tensions during the previous Nigerian elections. He emphasized that Tinubu’s administration has no plans to engage with Obi and his followers, known as the Obidients.

During an appearance on MIC On with Seun Okinbaloye, the presidential advisor reiterated the administration’s commitment to staying focused on governance. He stated, “We don’t want to be diverted from our government’s objectives. We are fully occupied with governing and cannot afford to be distracted by them at this time.”

Highlighting Obi’s campaign tactics, Onanuga expressed concern over the divisive nature of Obi’s rhetoric. He asserted, “Obi’s campaign introduced divisive elements into our politics, particularly by stoking ethnic and religious sentiments. Such actions are detrimental to the integrity of our political landscape.”
