Zamfara: NDLEA Commander Pays Courtesy Visit to Hurriya Dauda Lawal

Wife of the Governor of Zamfara state,Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal says, her office will partner with National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency to rid the state of drug abuse.

She stated this, while receiving the Acting Commander of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, Usain Yahaya Shafa who led other members of the Command to a courtesy visit on her Excellency held at the conference hall Government House Gusau, the State capital.

In a statement, issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication to the wife of the Governor, Zara’u Musa said, the meeting focused on the issues deliberated during a seminar organised by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu on how to eliminate drug abuse across the states of the Federation.

He briefed the wife of Governor of Zamfara state, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal that, the seminar centered on the need to collaborate with her office and the NDLEA, Zamfara state command to set up a committee that will be given the mandate of establishing a Drug Control Committee with a view to fighting drug abuse.

The committee is to ensure that Traditional rulers and schools key in and establish Drug Abuse Centre for counselling.

Other issues discussed were the establishment of Drug Test centres for divorcees to ascertain men that they are going to marry are not Drug Addicts.

In the same vein,among other issues highlighted, is women were encouraged to voice out if their husbands are into illicit Drugs.

Responding,Wife of the Governor of Zamfara state,Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal,said her husband is working tirelessly to fight drug abuse in the state.

She noted that,her office will collaborate with that of NDLEA Zamfara state command to rid out those engaged in Drugs and peddlers to make Zamfara free Drugs State .

Hajiya Huriyya expressed her appreciation for the visit,saying her office is always ready to collaborate with any organisation that will bring meaningful development in Zamfara state.
