..GOODWILL ADDRESS BY HIS EXCELLENCY ZAMFARA STATE DEPUTY GOVERNOR SENATOR HASSAN MUHAMMAD (JARMAN GUSAU) AT THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE SIXTEENTH BIENNIAL CONFERENCE IN ABUJA, TUESDAY 29TH MARCH, 2022.
In the name of Allah the Most Beneficent the Merciful.
I am highly delighted and honoured for being identified among many professional colleagues in the country particularly my own regulatory body, the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, to be part of this occasion, and giving me an opportunity to deliver a Goodwill message.
My professional colleagues, as registered nurse, I stand to express my appreciation to the Board and Management of the Council for sustaining this very all important gathering that unite nursing leaders across the country for the last sixteen years.
Going by the roles and responsibilities along with the contributions being passionately rendered by all honourable members of this noble profession across all the sectors of the Nigeria economy, we must appreciate ourselves for being always in the forefront at providing effective and efficient health care service delivery to the entire populace of this nation.
Professional colleagues, let me at this moment crave your indulgence to share with you my experiences with regard to the inbuilt urge I always feel, much as so want to believe is equally your feeling, too, that it behoves my humble self to always play my role actively well as a good ambassador of this noble profession.
In line with that customized mandate, I have prevailed on my position at the Senate then, that is in my capacity then as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing my Zamfara Central Constituency in the 9th senate, and protected the general interest of the profession in whatever way possible.
I recall with pleasure how I contributed positively in providing the much needed legal framework for the Council to operate. The gateway was gladly by championing the sponsorship of the Bill which I spearheaded for the review of the 42-year old bill of the Council, and I participated in the whole process.
You may wish to to be formally informed that I am the most happiest upon the realization the successful and timely passage of the bill before my exit from the Senate recently in response to the call by the electorate that I come over to serve as in my new position as the State Deputy Governor.
At this point, therefore, I strongly appeal to fellow practitioners at large to always ensure proper application of our guiding principles while in our respective facilities undertaking our individual primary assignment. This is because such a move is a standing factor in upholding our integrity and sustaining our individual and collective responsibilities.
I wish all the participants of the sixteenth biennial nursing leaders’ conference a successful deliberation, and I wish you all the best throughout the programme.
Thank you and GOD BLESS.
