Facebook Deletes Rarara’s Account Following Mass Reports by Northerners

The Facebook account of Dauda Kahutu Rarara, a well-known northern APC praise singer, has been deleted after his followers mass-reported him for his latest song praising President Bola Tinubu.

Rarara’s official Facebook account, which boasted over one million followers, was found to be inaccessible on Saturday following its removal by Facebook.

The incident occurred after Rarara posted a song lauding President Tinubu for allegedly solving Nigeria’s poverty crisis. In his song, Rarara claimed that Tinubu had made Nigeria great and alleviated hunger and insecurity in the northern region.

“Tinubu has made Nigeria great. Northerners have said goodbye to hunger, insecurity, and poverty,” Rarara sang.

This song was released amid a period of severe economic hardship in Nigeria, marked by skyrocketing food prices. The controversial claim came at a time when nationwide protests are planned to begin on August 1, addressing the worsening economic situation that has seen food prices more than double.

Adding to the controversy, despite Rarara’s claims of improved security, his own mother was kidnapped by bandits in Katsina just last month. She was eventually released after spending several days in captivity.
