Earlier today, Wednesday, the Zamfara State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Dr. Jamil Jibo Magayaki, alongside the State Party Working Committee, paid a homage visit to Alhaji Salihu Mai Buhu Gummi. The visit was seen as a significant demonstration of commitment and unity within the party.
Alhaji Salihu Mai Buhu Gummi, a prominent political figure in the northwestern region of Nigeria, has been actively involved in politics since the country’s “Second Republic” (1979-1983). Known for his unwavering dedication, he remains one of the most respected and influential leaders in the region.
Notably, Mai Buhu Gummi stood by the current governor of Zamfara State when other prominent politicians abandoned him. During a time when many dismissed the PDP’s potential influence in the state, Gummi’s steadfast support was crucial.
