Dauda Lawal Darei, the People Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, has been declared winner of the 2023 governorship election in Zamfara State.
He was declared the winner by the Returning Officer for Zamfara State led by Kashim Shehu, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state.
Dauda polled a total of 377,726 votes to defeat the incumbent governor of the state, (Dr) Bello Muhammad Matawallen Maradun who polled 311,976 votes.
