BREAKING: Kano High Court Overturns Suspension of Ganduje

The Kano State High Court, presided over by Justice Usman Mallam Na’Abba, has reversed its earlier decision to suspend Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje as the member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Haladu Gwanjo and Laminu Sani Barguma, who claimed to be the Chairman and Secretary of the APC Ganduje Ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of the State, had initially secured an order to suspend Ganduje from the party.

However, Justice Usman Na’Abba, in vacating his earlier order, stated that upon reviewing a Motion Ex-Parte, along with a 27-paragraph affidavit in support and a written address dated April 22, 2024, sworn to by Glory Adah, a litigation secretary in the 4th respondent solicitors law firm, he decided to grant an order of interim injunction.

The Interim Injunction order stays the execution of the previous order of interim injunction contained in the court’s ruling delivered on April 17, 2024. This ruling directed parties to maintain the status quo ante as at April 15, 2024, regarding the suspension of the 4th respondent/applicant from the 1st respondent by the Ganduje Ward Executive Committee. This stay is pending the hearing and determination of the 4th respondent/applicant Motion on Notice.

The case has been adjourned to April 30, 2024, for further hearing.
